Ice Climbing I
Course Description:
Granite Arches' Ice Climbing I will teach you the basic tools and techniques of ice climbing. Knots, belay techniques, and basic movement in ice climbing. Interested parties will also be introduced to rope handling and management in longer classes. Like all of our classes, course content is tailored to each climber's personal climbing goals and needs.

Ice Climbing I
Ice Climbing II
Course Description:
Granite Arches' Ice Climbing II will include review of the Ice Climbing I material as needed, bu then more advanced material. Content will include:
- Ice assessment
- Ice appropriate rope systems
- Ice screw placement and analysis
- Tool swinging technique
- Ablokov anchors
- Specialized ice climbing belaying techniques
- Ice climbing resting and efficiency
- Ice tool selection and usage
- Belay stance and technique
- Steep ice techniques: crossover, tool-stacking
- Lateral climbing
- Climbing Cauli and Runnels
- Creative protection
Prerequisites:
Ice climbing I or similar experience
Ice Climbing II (Advanced)
