Multi-pitch Climbing
Class is for:
Climbers with trad experience who desire detailed training in multi-pitch techniques.
Prerequisites:
General climbing experience and a desire to learn multi-pitch techniques and/or experience multi-pitch climbing.
Course Description:
Multi-pitch climbing parallels a single pitch environment in some ways, but the differences in rope management and efficiency can make or break a great day out on the mountain.
Class Length:
2-3 days.
Instructors:
A veteran Granite Arches' AMGA certified instructor.
This course will cover:
- micro and macro route finding.
- belay/anchor planning and stance management.
- anchor analysis.
- rope management.
- following/cleaning techniques.
- direct belays, indirect belays, and redirected belays.
- simple hauling systems (vector pull, drop loop)
- and lots of climbing.
